30th SGIFF at SMF Village

Description
Join SGIFF at the Singapore Media Festival Village as we celebrate the wonderful world of filmmaking with hands-on family workshops, insightful career talks and film screenings for all ages. Highlights include a talk by award-winning Japanese filmmaker Naoko Ogigami, who wrote the popular animated series Rilakkuma and Kaoru (2019), an interactive audition & casting workshop by Hello Group, an outdoor screening of coming-of-age music film, SuckSeed (2011), by Thai filmmaker Chayanop Boonprakob, and an exhibition of specially-commissioned poster art re-imagining our iconinc Singapore films.

A night of light-hearted and budding romance on the screen opens with a local short documentary about an interracial relationship, Rojak Romance, an animation short film about overcoming differences, Balance, and the Thai feature film about coming-of-age celebration of friendship and love, SuckSeed by Chayanop Boonprakob.

A night of celebrating human connection by looking at the lives of the ones affected by the demolition of the Sungei Road Market, a local short documentary, Trespass, and how a lonely woman improves the lives of others with the rental of cats, Rent a Cat, a Japanese feature film by Naoko Ogigami.
